The resort itself provides all the island feels with spectacular Whitsunday views. Enjoy the option to book the resort exclusively for friends and family under package #3, with private access to our Boat Bungalows, Resort Suites, 3-Bedroom Waterfront Homestead & the famous Beach Shack (aka the honeymoon suite).

Just a 10-minute drive from Airlie Beach, Freedom Shores is one of the great hidden gems of the Whitsundays. We also have an on-site restaurant, Northerlies Beach Bar & Grill – the local’s favourite beach bar. Great for pre or post wedding celebrations and just a 2-minute walk from the resort.

Wedding Planning 

As a ‘dry hire’ wedding venue, Freedom Shores weddings require the assistance of our partnered wedding planner, Euphoric Event Producers. They’ll be your rock on the day and help with everything to do with styling, marquees, suppliers, bar & catering menus, run sheets and more. Choose from their full planning services or just the essentials. We also exclusively partner with Aquava Boutique Catering to ensure the best quality catering for your wedding day.

A lawn of endless possibilities. The Freedom Shores lawn sits between the resort and private Beach Shack, offering a versatile space for marquee and teepee set ups or an open reception under the stars. Available only for weddings with exclusive resort use.

Northerlies 

Our onsite restaurant, Northerlies Beach Bar & Grill is the perfect spot for a rehearsal dinner or recovery party the next day. Plus, it’s just a 2 minute walk from the resort.

Northerlies is also a great option for couples looking for a more casual wedding with a smaller budget. Simply book tables within the Beach Hut, pre-order platters from our events menu, set up a bar tab (optional) and arrange your styling. To do this, we can connect you with their events team to discuss dates. No venue hire fee for non-exclusive bookings*. You can choose to host your ceremony on the Northerlies beach or within the resort.
